NHL roundup: Canucks end Panthers' win streak

 VANCOUVER, British Columbia -- Daniel Sedin scored his second goal of the game on a power-play goal in three-on-three overtime to give Vancouver a victory over Florida.

Sedin fired a shot from the point that beat Panthers goaltender Roberto Luongo at 2:21 of overtime. It was Sedin's 346 career goal, tying him for the Canucks franchise record with Markus Nasland. The Canucks were awarded the power play when Florida right winger Jaromir Jagr was called for hooking at 2:07.

Jussi Jokinen and Jonathan Huberdeau scored for the Atlantic Division-leading Panthers, who saw their 12-game win streak end. Jagr added an assist to extend his points streak to five consecutive games (4-2).

Rangers 2, Bruins 1

NEW YORK -- Jesper Fast scored on a remarkable deflection with 1:42 remaining in the third period to help lift New York to a victory against Boston at Madison Square Garden.
 


Rangers defenseman Keith Yandle launched a shot from the blue line that Fast tipped with his back to the net and a defenseman draped on him to help the Rangers rally from a 1-0 deficit entering the final period for a dramatic win.

Rangers goaltender Hernik Lundqvist stopped 32 shots. Goaltender Tuukka Rask made 28 saves for the Bruins.

Sharks 5, Flames 4

CALGARY, Alberta -- Brent Burns scored a power-play goal early in the third and then assisted on the game winner by Joel Ward to lead San Jose to a win over Calgary at the Scotiabank Saddledome.

Burns one-timed a pass from Patrick Marleau past Karri Ramo at 5:12 of the third and then set up Ward's 12th goal of the season to give the Sharks a two-goal lead.

Micheal Ferland scored Calgary's third power-play goal of the game with 3:41 to play in regulation, but the Flames weren't able to notch the equalizer.

Joe Thornton had a goal and an assist, while Joonas Donskoi and Logan Couture also scored for the Sharks.

Kings 4, Red Wings 2

LOS ANGELES -- Alec Martinez's power-play goal to open the third period was the difference, and Los Angeles held on for a victory over Detroit at Staples Center.

Martinez ripped a rocket outside the right circle at 1:28 of the final period for his fifth goal of the season.

Dwight King added an empty-netter with 53 seconds remaining in the game for his third goal this season.

Los Angeles forward Anze Kopitar had a goal and three assists, and center Tyler Toffoli scored a goal.
