[January 13, 2016]  LINCOLN - Logan County Circuit Court Clerk Mary Kelley announces their latest effort in collecting past due monies owed to the circuit court that have remained uncollectable.

In November, 2014 Logan County entered into a contract with Credit Collection Partners of Taylorville, IL to help collect unpaid monies due to Logan County involving criminal and quasi-criminal cases that have been uncollectable. The collection agency has been instrumental in collecting over $100,000 since January of 2015.

We have now contracted with the Illinois Debt Recovery Offset Program, Illinois Comptroller’s Office to further our collection efforts. What this means is anyone who owes our county monies that have been uncollectable involving criminal and quasi-criminal cases and will receive an Illinois State income tax refund, is employed by the State government, State University, Illinois Lottery Winnings, and most other state payments an offset will be held by the state Comptroller’s Office per statute and contract agreement. After the holding period the funds will be forwarded to the Logan County Circuit Clerk’s Office and applied to the balance owed. Should you want to pay in full you can contact our office at (217) 735-2376 and we will instruct you further.
