[January 14, 2016]  DENVER -- Forward Danilo Gallinari scored 28 points and had a key steal in the final 10 seconds Wednesday, and the Denver Nuggets handed the Golden State Warriors a rare defeat, 112-110.

Guard Will Barton finished with 21 points for the Nuggets (15-24).

Guard Stephen Curry scored 38 points for the Warriors (36-3). The visitors' march to a historic season took a hit against a scrappy Nuggets team that had lost four in a row to Golden State.

It was nail-biting at the end. Gallinari, who was 17-for-19 from the foul line, missed one with 3.1 seconds left to give the Warriors one last chance. Guard Klay Thompson missed a fall-away jumper at the buzzer, and the Nuggets escaped.

The win ranks with the Nuggets' Feb. 4, 1996, victory that ended Chicago's 18-game winning streak. The Bulls finished 72-10 that season -- the best mark in NBA history, and the record the Warriors are chasing.

Rockets 107, Timberwolves 104

HOUSTON -- James Harden and Dwight Howard recorded double-doubles while Terrence Jones delivered a second consecutive strong effort off the bench as Houston held off Minnesota at Toyota Center.

Jones, a forward, scored 16 points and grabbed nine boards as Houston (21-19) extended its win streak to a season-best five games.

Durant shot 9 of 14 from the field to go with 10 rebounds and four assists. Serge Ibaka added 20 points and 11 rebounds as the Thunder improved to 28-12.

Playing without all five starters, the Mavericks were paced by J.J. Barea, who had 18 points and six assists. Raymond Felton added 14 points on 3 of 11 shooting as the Mavs fell to 22-18.

Celtics 103, Pacers 94

BOSTON -- Jae Crowder and Amir Johnson, guard Marcus Smart and Crowder again all scored off steals in a 1:40 span late in the fourth quarter, and the Celtics ended on a 12-0 run and snapped a four-game losing streak with a victory over Indiana.

The Celtics blew an 11-point, third-quarter lead and then rallied from four points down late, finishing with a flourish. They trailed by three when the parade of swipes began. Boston had three steals in the game before the four in the final 2:40.

The Pacers, who had won three of their previous four, didn't score for the final 2:15.

Hornets 107, Hawks 84

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Kemba Walker scored 23 points before sitting out the entire fourth quarter and Charlotte snapped a seven-game losing streak with a blowout victory over Atlanta.

Walker was 9 of 13 from the field and hit four 3-pointers, breaking out after combining to go 7 of 28 from the field in his previous two games. He also had five assists.

The Hornets raced to a 17-2 lead in the first seven minutes and never trailed from there, taking advantage of an Atlanta team that seemed totally disinterested all night. Charlotte eventually led by as many as 35 points in the second half.

Wizards 106, Bucks 101

WASHINGTON -- John Wall scored 19 points and Washington opened the fourth quarter with an 11-0 run and pulled away for its third straight win, defeating Milwaukee.

Ramon Sessions had 15 points for the Wizards, who blew a 19-point lead in the first half and trailed 74-71 entering the final period before pulling ahead of the turnover-plagued Bucks. Washington turned 27 Milwaukee turnovers into 36 points as the Wizards improved to 3-0 against the Bucks this season.

Wizards guard Bradley Beal scored 11 points in 22 minutes during his first appearance since Dec. 9. He missed 16 games with a stress reaction in his right fibula.

Nets 110, Knicks 104

NEW YORK -- Thaddeus Young posted a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds as Brooklyn placed six players in double figures and ended a 10-game home losing streak with a victory over New York.

Young finished with his 19th double-double and reached double figures for the 35th time. He also thrived defensively against Knicks rookie forward Kristaps Porzingis.

Porzingis was held to 11 points on 5-of-17 shooting from the floor. He was 1 of 8 when Young was defending him. Brook Lopez had 20 points and eight rebounds for the Nets, who won their first home game since beating the Philadelphia 76ers on Dec. 10 and snapped a five-game overall losing streak.

Pelicans 109, Kings 97

SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- New Orleans looked nothing like a team with only 11 victories. Sacramento looked nothing like a team with the playoffs on its mind.

Eric Gordon scored 24 points, and Anthony Davis returned to the lineup to score 24 points and pull 10 rebounds, and the Pelicans coasted for much of a victory over the Kings at Sleep Train Arena.

Davis, back after missing two games with a bruised back, scored 11 points in the opening period, and New Orleans blitzed Sacramento with a 22-6 first-quarter run after the Kings scored the game's opening four points.

Clippers 104, Heat 90

LOS ANGELES -- Despite playing without Blake Griffin (quad) and DeAndre Jordan (pneumonia), Los Angeles blitzed Miami.

Cole Aldrich, who started in place of Jordan, scored 19 points and grabbed seven rebounds, while Chris Paul had 15 points, 12 assists and six rebounds, sparking the Clippers to their 10th consecutive victory.

Gerald Green scored 19 points to lead the Heat, who lost their third in a row. Dwyane Wade finished with 16 points and eight rebounds, while Chris Bosh had 11 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists.
