[January 15, 2016]  LINCOLN - Erna M. Elsas, 89, of Lincoln, passed away at 5:33 p.m. January 7, 2016, at Christian Village, Lincoln.

Visitation: 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 16, at Zion Lutheran Church

Service: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 16, at the church

Funeral home: Fricke-Calvert-Schrader, Lincoln   

Obituary

Erna M. Elsas, 89, of Lincoln, passed away at 5:33 p.m. January 7, 2016, at Christian Village, Lincoln.

Erna was born August 12, 1926, the daughter of John and Marie Gala Dworak. She married Alvin “Squeak” Elsas in 1950, in Decatur. He preceded her in death July 17, 1993. Her parents also preceded her in death.

Erna is survived by one son: Jeff (Marsha) Elsas of Lincoln and one daughter: Debbie (Jim) Kammueller of Peoria; four grandchildren Nicholas Kammueller; Seth (Julia) Kammueller; Brennan Elsas; Brooklynn Elsas; and one great grandchild: Ava Rose Kammueller.

Mrs. Elsas was a homemaker, had worked at Stetson China Factory, and had been an election officer for East Lincoln Township for over 25 years. She is a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Lincoln, the Ladies Aid, and Ladies Missionary Society for over 50 years. She was also a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.

Services for Erna will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 16, 2016, at Zion Lutheran Church with Rev. Mark Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Zion Cemetery, Lincoln. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Erna’s name to Zion Lutheran Church or Christian Village. Services were entrusted to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln.
