Junior Lady Wolverine Basketball

[January 17, 2016]    LINCOLN - The 2nd/3rd Grade and the 3rd/4th Grade Lady Wolverine teams brought home two tournament championships this past weekend.

The 2nd/3rd Grade Team won the Illini bluffs Tournament, which consisted of teams from Cuba, East Peoria , Illini Bluffs and Lewistown.

The Lady Wolverines played great defense as well as amazing teamwork to defeat Lewistown in the championship game by a score of 14-7.

Scoring contributors in championship game were Piper Whiteman 4, Mia Clark 4, Jane Turner 4, Emma Baker 2. Also scoring in the tourney was Rebecca Burge 3.

The 3rd/4th Grade Team won the Illini Bluffs Tournament, this is their second tournament championship this year as they also won the Lewistown Tournament earlier this season.

The teams in the 4th grade bracket included Dunlap, Washington, Illini Bluffs, Limestone, Germantown Hills, AC Central , Lewistown, Pleasant Plains and Pekin.
 

The 4th Grade Team also defeated Lewistown in the championship game by a score of 50-19. Scoring contributors were Kloe Froebe 30, Alison Turner 10, Jenna Bowman 8, Tori Geriets 2. Also scoring in the tourney Becca Heitzig 8, Piper Whiteman 2.

The Lady Wolverines also had the top two spots in the tournament freethrow contest as Kloe Froebe was the champion and Tori Geriets finished 2nd.

What a great weekend for the Lady Wolverine program!
