Obituary

Edna M. “Eddie” Camp of Lincoln passed away on June 29, 2016 at Castle Manor in Lincoln.

Eddie was born January 2, 1925 in Elkhart, Illinois the daughter of Roy and Bessie Miller Broehl. She married Clyde W. Camp on April 26, 1948 in Hannibal, MO. He preceded her in death on October 13, 2012.

She is survived by one son Terry (Andee) Camp of Jacksonville, FL., one daughter Cathy I. (Mike Parquette) Spanton of Las Vegas, NV, two grandchildren Brittney Peterson and Jarrod “JD” Welsh and five great-grandchildren. Eddie is also survived by two brothers, Gordon King and Earl Ruebenking, as well as one sister, Doris Hopper. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, and one sister.

 

She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Lincoln Elks Lodge, Lincoln Emblem Club #433, and the American Legion Auxiliary Post #263. Eddie enjoyed golfing and organizing golfing events and derbies. She enjoyed knitting her whole life and spent a majority of her later years at Serendipity Stitches spending a lot of time with her group of friends.

Services for Eddie will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday July 6, 2016 at The First United Methodist Church in Lincoln with Rev. Michael Paulson officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the services from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will take place at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield on Wednesday July 6, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln is entrusted with services.
