[July 11, 2016]  July 10 (The Sports Xchange) - The San Diego Chargers have collected enough signatures to qualify their new stadium proposal for the November election.

The City Clerk of San Diego determined on Saturday that sufficient signatures were obtained to place the "Chargers Citizens' Initiative" on the Nov. 8 ballot.

If the measure is successful, the franchise would stay in San Diego instead of exercising its option to relocate to Los Angeles as a tenant to Rams owner Stan Kroenke at the stadium he has under construction in Inglewood, Calif.

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le'Veon Bell, who had right knee surgery last November, is confident he is on schedule for training camp next month.

Bell, who suffered a torn MCL and PCL in Week 8, told ESPN his leg is "probably stronger than it ever was" after rehabbing the right knee injury before the Steelers' camp opens on July 28.

The 24-year-old fourth-year running back played five games last year and rushed for 556 yards with three touchdowns.

Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley has plenty of confidence in his abilities heading into the upcoming NFL season, and he wants his fantasy football owners to feel just as positive.

Gurley didn't miss a beat when asked by the NFL Network where he should be drafted in fantasy circles.

"No. 1 overall for sure," the 21-year-old said. "You maybe could choose (Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver) Antonio Brown over me, but no one else. Maybe Cam (Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton). That's it."

The 10th overall pick of the 2015 draft, Gurley overcame an early three-game absence to rush 229 times for 1,106 yards and 10 touchdowns during his rookie season.

Most NFL fans don't know who Sarah Thomas is, but it's a sure bet every coach and every player is aware that she is the only female referee in the league.

On Thursday, Thomas, along with last season's other 16 referees, found out that they will be returning for the upcoming season.

Thomas is a second-year line judge and the NFL's only female referee. The 42-year-old mother of three made her debut on Sept. 13 working the game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Houston Texans. (Editing by Andrew Both)
