[July 15, 2016]    July 14 (The Sports Xchange) - The Detroit Red Wings added to their depth at forward on Thursday by signing center Luke Glendening to a four-year contract extension.

 

Financial terms were not disclosed by the team for the speedy Glendening, who recorded a career-high 21 points (eight goals, 13 assists) in 81 games last season. He was slated to become an unrestricted free agent after next summer.

The Winnipeg Jets agreed to terms with restricted free agent forwards Joel Armia and Adam Lowry on two-year, one-way contracts.

Armia's contract is worth $925,000 yearly while Lowry's $1.125 million.

The Buffalo Sabres rewarded Marcus Foligno for his career season by signing the restricted free-agent forward to a one-year contract.

Financial terms were not disclosed for Foligno, who recorded personal bests in goals (10), points (23) and games played (75) last season.

Nick Cousins will remain in the City of Brotherly Love for another season after the Philadelphia Flyers forward accepted a qualifying offer.

Cousins recorded six goals and five assists in 36 games last season. The 22-year-old also played in all six contests of Philadelphia's first-round series versus Washington.

The Los Angeles Kings agreed to terms on a one-year contract with unrestricted free agent forward Patrick Bjorkstrand.

The 24-year-old Bjorkstrand played last season with Medvescak Zagreb, a Kontinental Hockey League team based in Zagreb, Croatia. (Editing by Frank Pingue)
