[July 15, 2016]   LINCOLN - The Middletown Firemen’s Festival will be kicking off at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, July 15 with a blessing from Pastor Jimmy Terrell of the Middletown Bible Church. Events both days include craft, home business and food vendors in the village park.

CDubs will be on sight with inflatables – some using water – and Spiderman will be on-sight to thrill the kids. Samuel Schriber will be setting up his Pre-1840 Fur Trade Camp and eager to talk about life during that period. BINGO will be held daily as will raffles for donated items. We will be drawing the 50/50, Pistol Raffle and winner for the 32” Flat Screen TV at 7:45 p.m. Saturday.

Friday events include a Car & Motorcycle Show from 4-7, Kid’s & Firemen Obstacle Course starting at 7:30, Zumba with Lizzy Stanton at 8:30, 9 PM 5K Glow Run and Hi-Tek Redneck will DJ/Karaoke from 8-Midnight. The Middletown Methodist Church will be serving a Pork Chop dinner beginning at 4 p.m.

Saturday will start with breakfast in the village park served by the KCB Library at 8 a.m. followed by our parade with Grand Marshall Earl Baker. A Veteran’s Ceremony honoring Veterans attending the program will commence after the parade – approximately 10:45 a.m. Middletown Volunteer Fire Department will host this year’s Firemen’s Waterball Fight at 11:30 a.m. with a Kid’s Waterball Fight following (parents must register kids between 12 & 1 at the Command Center). Illinois Rail will be under the Pavilion from 1-3 p.m. followed by Audra’s Studio of Dance from 3-4 p.m. Jeff & Sam Willis bring Monster Arm Wrestling to the 2016 festival at 5 p.m. – weigh in starts at 4 p.m. The event finishes with Jack Dupp and the Empty Bottles rocking the village from 8-Midnight.

Participants are able to sign up for the 5K Race day for $30 per person or $90 per 4 person team. Participants for this chip timed race will receive finisher medals. Anyone with a car or motorcycle to show is invited to bring it over for the 4 PM show – door prizes and awards will be held at 7 p.m. Please let us know if you would like to participate in the parade themed Land of the Free – Home of the Brave.
