[July 15, 2016]    2016 Acreage Reporting - Final Crop reporting date is July 15, 2016. Once you have all of your acres planted, please stop by the office ASAP!

Here's a few reminders before you make the trip:

  • Please bring all planting dates
  • Failed acreage must be reported before disposition of the crop
  • Prevented acreage must be reported no later than 15 days after final planting date. Corn final plant date is June 5th; prevented must be reported by June 20th. Soybeans final plant date is June 20th; prevented must be reported by July 5th.
  • CRP must be certified by July 15, 2016.

Starting with the 2013 crop year the deadline for reporting fall seeded crops, including wheat, and perennial forage/ grazing was moved to December 15.

**CRP ACREAGE SHOULD NOT BE DISTURBED UNTIL AFTER** AUGUST 1ST DUE TO PRIMARY NESTING SEASON

2016 ARC/PLC Enrollment

ARC/ PLC enrollment is underway. If you have not completed your enrollment, we encourage you to visit the Logan County Farm Service Agency office at once. If 2016 enrollment is not completed on a farm, the farm will not be eligible for financial assistance from the PLC or ARC program should crop prices or farm revenues fall below the historical price or revenue bench marks established by the program

Beginning Farmers and Ranchers Loans

Farm Service Agency provides direct and guaranteed loans to beginning farmers and ranchers who are unable to obtain financing from commercial credit sources.The Agency targets a portion of its loan funds to small and Beginning Farmers and Ranchers. A beginning farmer is defined as one who:

  • Has not operated a farm or ranch for more than 10 years
  • Does not own a farm or ranch greater than 30 percent of the average size farm in the county as determined by the most current Census for Agriculture
  • Meets the loan eligibility requirements of the program to which he/she is applying
  • Substantially participates in the operation
