Saturday morning anxious shoppers awaited the opening of the annual library book sale at the Lincoln Public Library. The sale is an annual tradition that many from near and far look forward to each year. Shoppers purchase a grocery bag and fill it to the brim with books for a very low price.

Lincoln Public Library’s annual buck-a-bag book sale and the traditional first arrivals, Mike and Ruth Reid…they have been first in line at the front door for years.

 

The back door of the library drew an early crowd of eager readers, and library staff greeted them with lots of bags to collect their treasure.

 

Mike and Ruth are already focused on the treasure trove of books.

 

Early arrivals have plenty of choice. This year is special at the library book sale. “The staff at the library have carefully gone through the stacks and pulled books that have not been in circulation for years and placed them in the book sale,” said Richard Sumrall, library director. Rare and unusual books were included in this year’s selection.
