[June 09, 2016]  June 8 (The Sports Xchange) - Super Bowl MVP Von Miller and the Denver Broncos have yet to agree on a contract extension.

The team set a Tuesday night deadline to get a long-term deal done with the outside linebacker. Reports on Wednesday indicated that talks have not broken off, but the two sides are not close to coming to terms.

Without an agreement, Miller would be left to play the 2016 season under a $14.129 million franchise tag. As an exclusive rights free agent, he is not eligible to receive offers or negotiate with other teams.

According to reports, Miller and the Broncos agreed on years and total value of a new contract -- six years for more than $114 million with $39.8 million guaranteed the first two years -- but not on how the deal is broken down.

Denver cornerback Aqib Talib, recovering from a gunshot wound to his right leg over the weekend, returned to the team's facility and met with doctors and trainers.

Talib also was scheduled to participate in some of the team's meetings, according to ESPN.com.

Talib was released from a Dallas hospital Monday after suffering a gunshot wound but questions lingered about the circumstances of the shooting.

According to multiple reports, the 30-year-old Talib was injured at a strip club early Sunday morning in Dallas, where he has an offseason home.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed by the team.

Burns, the No. 25 overall pick, played at the University of Miami and led the Atlantic Coast Conference in interceptions with six in 2015.

The Los Angeles Rams waived Stedman Bailey, who is still recovering from two gunshot wounds to the head suffered last November, with the non-football injury designation.

Bailey is expected to rejoin the team in a non-football playing capacity if he clears waivers, according to multiple reports. Bailey, 25, has been attending offseason workouts and organized team activities in Oxnard, Calif., but has not been cleared to participate. He has been helping the wide receivers in drills.
