[June 14, 2016]    LINCOLN - Tim Woolard of Emden and Dan Horn of Lincoln competed in the Springfield qualifier of the Audi Quattro Cup at Panther Creek Country Club on Sunday, June 12th. The duo won the grand prize of all expenses paid trip to compete in the U.S. Final at Pebble Beach August 25th-28th.

In 1991, German Audi dealers organized the first Audi Quattro Cup with 51 local tournaments in Germany and over 6,000 participating golfers. Today, over 100,000 golfers participate in the tournament per year in over 800 tournaments in 54 countries. Audi Quattro Cup has become the largest amateur golf tournament series in the world. Over one million golfers have participated over the last 25 years, with numbers only continuing to grow.

The event was a handicapped alternate shot format, using the modified Stableford point system. The twosome shot a round of 77 to rack up 43 points. Just enough to edge out four teams who tied for 2nd place with 42 points. Green Audi was the local tournament sponsor.
