Lincoln Heritage Museum to host Strawberry Party

[June 21, 2016]  LINCOLN - The Lincoln Heritage Museum will be hosting Mary Lincoln’s Strawberry Party from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 25, 2016. Abraham Lincoln, Republican nominee for President of the United States, and his wife Mary will be attending.

The party will feature children’s games such as hoop and stick, jacks, and marbles. There will be an opportunity for visitors to write a letter to Mr. Lincoln giving him advice on becoming the President of the United States, and young ladies will receive instruction on how to talk with their fans under the guidance of Mrs. Lincoln herself.

At 2 p.m., central Illinois author Carla Mayernick will read her book “Where is Abe?” Copies of “Where is Abe?” will be available for purchase in the Museum gift shop. In addition to the games and activities, special music will be provided by Lincoln College musicians and delicious strawberry ice cream will be served while supplies last.
