[June 28, 2016]    June 27 (The Sports Xchange) - Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts confirmed Monday morning that ace Clayton Kershaw was receiving treatment for minor back discomfort.

 

Kershaw gave up nine hits and four runs during a 4-3 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates on Sunday night, both marking his second-highest numbers of the season, but Roberts insisted the back was not an issue.

Philadelphia pitching prospect, left-hander Matt Imhof, has suffered a career-threatening eye injury.

Imhof, the team's second-round pick in the 2014 draft, has undergone surgery for what's been described as a "significant" eye injury.

According to ESPN, the 22-year-old was taking part in a routine stretching regimen after a game at Brevard County when a piece of equipment malfunctioned and he was struck in the right eye.

One of the Washington Nationals top prospects will be getting his first taste of the major leagues on Tuesday.
