[June 30, 2016]   MOUNT PULASKI - The community of Mount Pulaski will be celebrating the Fourth of July with several events going on around town.

For those who enjoy rummaging, the townwide garage sales will be going on throughout the weekend. Some start as early as Friday. The majority will be Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, and a few will be Monday only.

The annual event is organized by the Mount Pulaski Community Pride organization. The group has printed a flyer giving the addresses, specific dates and times, and a brief description of items being offered at each location. These brochures will be available at Deron Powell State Farm and Farmers Bank both in downtown Mount Pulaski, Vonderleith Living Center, Casey's and the G-Mart, all on the edge of town along Illinois Route 121, and at the Bank of Chestnut.

On Saturday, July 2nd, the Mount Pulaski Boy Scout Troop 122 will be cooking and serving up pork chop sandwiches. The boys will be serving at two locations - East Park and the Farmers Bank parking lot. Serving will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at both locations.
