[March 04, 2016]  At the February board meeting of the Logan County Farm Bureau, Joe Schaller offered up information concerning a referendum vote to be on the March 15th primary election ballot for all of Logan County.

The referendum seeks to establish a county-wide Veteran's Assistance Commission. The commission, if established will offer assistance to local veterans in a variety of ways including emergency financial assistance for rent and/or utilities, assistance in filing VA claims, and offering help in locating other needed services for area veterans.

Schaler asked that the Logan County Farm Bureau led its support by offering its official endorsement of the proposed commission.

Later in the evening, the board entertained a motion to lend its endorsement. Schaler was notified via email by board chairman David Opperman that the Logan County Farm Bureau Board voted in support of the commission.
