Lincoln Junior High School Wrestlers headed to State Finals this weekend

[March 08, 2016]  LINCOLN - The Lincoln Junior High School Trojan Wrestlers will advance five kids with two possible alternates to the state finals next Friday and Saturday at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb.

“This is my personal best total of qualifiers to the state meet,” stated Coach Alex Dawson. “I have had four qualifiers three other times as the coach at LJHS and came real close to having seven kids make it this time. It has been an exciting season for Coach Walt Landers and me.”

Finishing as Sectional Champions was 119 lb. Trevor Bree (39-0), 155 lb. Trenton Wright (30-4), and 167 lb. Bryan Garza (32-5).

Finishing in Second place were 145 lb. Alex Bogdanic (36-4). In Third was 126 lb. Brandon Sweitzer (26-7). The two alternates are 112 lb. Austin O’Donoghue (37-5) and 135 lb. Dalton Westcott (17-13).
