LCHS Speech Team to give free
performance tonight

- The casts of the Lincoln Community High School IHSA Sectional
Entries for Group Interpretation and Contest Play will present a
free public performance at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 17, in the LCHS
Auditorium.

The Contest Play is a 40-minute cutting of William Shakespeare's
"As You Like It" and features the following cast members: senior
Braden Tanner as Orlando, senior Colton Clark as Jaques, freshman
Hunter McKinney as Touchstone, sophomore Bradley Rahn as Duke
Frederick, freshman Austin Garriott as Silvius, freshman Mason
Landers as Amiens, senior Lena Stapleton as Celia, senior Kenzie
Landers as Rosalind, junior Claire Conrady as Phebe, junior Shelbi
Fisher as Audrey, freshman Aleaya Turley as Duke Senior, and
sophomore Shannon Rahn as Corin/Oliver.
The Group Interpretation is "Something Rotten!," based on the
current hit Broadway musical of the same name. It is a 30-minute
retelling of the fictional Elizabethan-set musical comedy about
Shakespeare's life and his competition.

The cast features: Braden Tanner, Colton Clark, Lena Stapleton, Bekah Harpin,
Kenzie Landers, Aleaya Turley, Shannon Rahn, Erin Gowin, Lydia Spellman and
Claire Conrady.
The team will travel Friday and Saturday to compete at the IHSA Sectional at
Belleville West High School. The top two performances of seven in the Contest
Play and the top three of six Group Interpretations will advance to IHSA State
Competition at University of Illinois - Springfield April 1-2.
