NBA roundup: Warriors improve to 62-6

DALLAS -- The last time Golden State visited Dallas, Stephen Curry was nursing a minor injury and didn't play. The game went down as one of the Warriors' six losses on the season. Oh, what a difference having the reigning MVP makes.

Golden State shrugged off a sluggish start and pulled away late against a desperate Mavericks team 130-112 in front an early arriving sellout crowd Friday.

Curry finished with 31 points on 12-of-26 shooting after a cool second half. The Warriors won their seventh consecutive game and improved to 62-6 as the San Antonio Spurs await their arrival for a Saturday night showdown between the league's two best teams.

Klay Thompson scored 39 points and made 10 of 15 from 3-point range, for Golden State.

Dallas, fighting for its playoff life, dropped below .500 at 34-35, and awaits word on forward Chandler Parsons, who left the game with a sore right hamstring. He had 14 points in 22 minutes before leaving the game. Dirk Nowitzki had 24 points for the Mavericks.

Thunder 111, 76ers 97

PHILADELPHIA -- Russell Westbrook notched his league-leading 13th triple-double with 20 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists as Oklahoma City defeated Philadelphia for the 14th consecutive time.
 


Kevin Durant added 26 points, 13 rebounds and six assists, scoring at least 20 points for the 54th straight game for the Thunder (47-22).

Enes Kanter scored 16 points and Steven Adams had 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Nik Stauskas scored 23 points for Philadelphia, which has lost 17 of its last 18.

Cavaliers 109, Magic 103

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Kyrie Irving scored 26 points and added five assists in leading Cleveland to victory over Orlando.

Irving, who had 33 points Wednesday in a victory over Dallas, scored 10 points the decisive fourth quarter.

Magic guard Victor Oladipo scored a career-high 45 points, but only six in the fourth when the Cavaliers dominated.

Cleveland (49-19) won for the fifth time in the last six games, strengthening their hold on the best record in the Eastern Conference. LeBron James had 18 points, eight assists and seven rebounds.

Raptors 105, Celtics 91

TORONTO -- Kyle Lowry poured in a game-high 32 points to help Toronto defeat Boston.

The game marked Lowry's 21st career regular season game with 30-plus points. The Raptors (46-21) have won three straight and 12 of 15. Luis Scola finished with 17 points and three rebounds. DeMar DeRozan added 15 points seven rebounds and six assists.

The loss was the fourth consecutive for the Celtics (39-30), matching a season-high. Boston was led by a team-high 20 points from Isaiah Thomas.

Rockets 116, Timberwolves 111

HOUSTON -- James Harden recorded a double-double and matched his career high for assists as Houston fended off Minnesota.

Harden finished with 29 points and 14 assists as all five Rockets starters scored in double figures. Harden also had nine turnovers, however, as the

Timberwolves turned 17 Houston turnovers into 25 points to remain within striking distance throughout the second half.

Minnesota rookie Karl-Anthony Towns posted his 40th double-double with a game-high 32 points and 11 rebounds as the Timberwolves the Rockets

with five starters in double figures.

Trail Blazers 117, Pelicans 112

NEW ORLEANS -- C.J. McCollum scored 30 points, including a go-ahead 3-pointer with a minute left, and backcourt mate Damian Lillard scored a

game-high 33 points to lift Portland over New Orleans.

The Blazers led by as many as 20 points in the first half and did not have to worry about Pelicans star forward Anthony Davis, who injured his left

knee late in the first half and left the game with 19 points.

New Orleans was paced by forward Ryan Anderson and guard Jrue Holiday, who each scored 30 points.

Pistons 115, Kings 108

AUBURN HILLS, Mich.-- Marcus Morris had 24 points and matched his career high with six 3-pointers as Detroit defeated Sacramento.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope tossed in 23 points for the Pistons (35-34). Reggie Jackson supplied 19 points, nine assists and seven rebounds as every Detroit starter reached double figures for the 24th time this season -- an NBA high.



DeMarcus Cousins' 31 points and 10 rebounds led the Kings (26-42), who have lost 11 of their last 13. Rudy Gay had 19 points and Rajon Rondo added 10 points, 13 assists and eight rebounds.

Suns 95, Lakers 90

LOS ANGELES -- Brandon Knight scored 22 points and Devin Booker added 21 points, leading Phoenix over the Los Angeles Lakers at Staples Center.

Tyson Chandler collected 12 points and 17 rebounds for the Suns, who bounced back from a 103-69 drudging Thursday by the Utah Jazz. P.J. Tucker chipped in 13 points.

Lou Williams scored a game-high 30 points before fouling out with 7.7 seconds left in the contest to lead the Lakers, who have lost nine of the last 11 contests to the Suns. Ryan Kelly was the only other Laker to reach double figures in scoring with 10.
