NHL roundup: Pens top Caps for 6th straight win

 PITTSBURGH -- Tom Kuhnhackl had a goal and two assists, and the Pittsburgh Penguins surged back with four consecutive goals to manhandle the NHL-leading Washington Capitals 6-2 Sunday night and move up the standings.

Trevor Daley and Kuhnhackl's linemate, Matt Cullen, each had a goal and an assist, and Sidney Crosby had two more assists. Justin Schultz, Chris Kunitz and Bryan Rust also scored for the Penguins.

Jason Chimera and Andre Burakovsky scored for the Capitals.

Ducks 3, Jets 2 (OT)

WINNIPEG, Manitoba -- Jakob Silfverberg scored with 58.6 seconds left in overtime to lift Anaheim over Winnipeg at MTS Centre.

Silfverberg was stopped on a breakaway by Michael Hutchinson but then flipped in the rebound to give the visitors the win.

Ryan Kesler and Jamie McGinn also scored for the Ducks while John Gibson made 27 saves.

Paul Postma and Blake Wheeler scored for the Jets.

Devils 2, Blue Jackets 1

NEWARK, N.J. -- Scott Wedgewood made 27 saves in his NHL debut and Devante Smith-Pelly scored the winner in the third period as New Jersey defeated Columbus at Prudential Center.

Reid Boucher also scored for the Devils.

Jared Boll scored his first goal since Feb. 13, 2015 for the Blue Jackets, and Joonas Korpisalo stopped 20 shots.

Flames 4, Canadiens 1

MONTREAL -- Sean Monahan scored twice and added an assist to lift Calgary over Montreal at the Bell Centre.

Dougie Hamilton recorded three assists for the Flames, who also got goals from Joe Colborne and Johnny Gaudreau.

Michael McCarron scored the lone goal for the Canadiens.

Wild 3, Blackhawks 2 (SO)

CHICAGO -- Charlie Coyle scored the tiebreaking goal to lift Minnesota over Chicago.

Erik Haula and Nino Niederreiter scored for the Wild during regulation. Andrew Shaw and Richard Panik scored during regulation for the Blackhawks.

Devan Dubnyk stopped 29 of 31 shots during regulation and overtime for the Wild and Scott Darling made 32 saves on 34 shots for the Blackhawks.

Avalanche 3, Oilers 2

EDMONTON, Alberta -- Calvin Pickard made 26 saves, and Colorado beat Edmonton to remain one point ahead of Minnesota for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference.

The loss mathematically eliminated the Oilers from the playoff race.

Gabriel Landeskog, Tyson Barrie and Blake Comeau scored for the Avalanche. Matt Hendricks Ryan Nugent-Hopkins had goals for the Oilers.

Sharks 3, Coyotes 0

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- James Reimer pitched his second shutout as a member of the Sharks, leading San Jose past Arizona.

Reimer turned away 25 shots for his 13th career shutout as the Sharks won for the fourth time in six games to again move within one point of second-place Anaheim in the Pacific Division.

Joel Ward, Tomas Hertl and captain Joe Pavelski provided the goals as San Jose improved to 16-15-3 on home ice by winning its second game in as many days to open a season-high, six-game homestand.
