On Saturday morning, it was all about breakfast at the Lincoln Christian Church. The church was hosting a fundraiser for the Good News Creative Arts.

Though tagged as the Ultimate All You Can Eat Pancake Breakfast, the fundraiser offered additional choices included biscuits and gravy!

The Good New Publishing Company was started in 1971 under the direction of Keith Davenport, Youth Minister at Lincoln Christian Church.

The name of the group was changed several years ago. The goal, to have more students involved as they find a passion for worship not only through singing, but also through playing instruments, running sound or lights, drama, and/or participating in TRASH (Teen Rescued and Serving Him, a percussion group).

The company is made up of Junior and Senior High Students that travel throughout the country every summer presenting a musical offering of worship.

Many things have changed since the inception 45 years ago, but the message of sharing Christ through worship is still the same.

This year, Good News Creative Arts under the direction of Laurin Hill will perform nine concerts in eight days in four states. The trip will include a performance at Disney World.

With the help of choir sponsors and wonderful volunteers, the students served over 800 people at the annual Ultimate All You Can Eat Pancake Breakfast on Saturday morning.

Anyone wishing to know more about the trip or make a donation to the ministry can call Lincoln Christian Church at 217-732-7618.
