[March 24, 2016]  Any of you reading my article believe in Bigfoot? Awe, come on! Raise your hand if you do. Take ownership of it. How about UFO’s? Lock Ness Monster? How do you know if they’re real? How can you tell the difference between a myth and a reality if it is something you’ve never seen? I don’t have the answer to their reality, only opinions. How about the idea of a resurrection after death? Is life after death a Myth of Reality?

Jesus staked His entire reputation on the Resurrection. If it didn’t happen, everything that Jesus said and did is open to question. If it never happened, Christianity collapses into mythology alongside of Bigfoot, UFO’s, and the Lock Ness Monster.

Paul says in 1 Corinthians 15:14 and 17 (Good News translation) "If Christ has not been raised from death then we have nothing to preach and you have nothing to believe. If Christ has not been raised then your faith is a delusion and you are still lost in your sins." Paul says that the resurrection is the cornerstone of Christianity.

There are over a hundred references in the New Testament to the resurrection. The Scriptures tell us that over 500 witnesses saw Jesus alive after his well-known and well-documented death. There are more compelling facts to the resurrection than you may be aware of.

One of the reasons Easter matters so much is because it gives all of us another opportunity to revisit the many proofs to the resurrection story. And hear me clearly, there are MANY proofs.

[to top of second column]

This Easter Sunday, literally hundreds of millions of people will attend an Easter church service and worship Jesus for resurrecting from the grave. For most people; it really doesn’t affect their day to day life. Oh, but for some of us; it affects not only our day to day, but everything we do and every decision we make.

Regardless of where you are in your faith, or if you’re investigating Christianity, or if you’re a skeptic, maybe this would be a great year for you to accept our invitation to come to Easter service with us and get the facts. Hear the proofs. Experience our hope.

After all, Easter matters and we want to share why.

You can find us at the chapel building on the campus of Lincoln Christian University. Hope to see you there. Ron Otto…

Two Easter services on Sunday March 27th 8:30 and 10 a.m. at the Lincoln Christian University Chapel.
