PITTSBURGH -- Scott Wedgewood stopped 39 shots to shut out the NHL's hottest team in only his second career game, Kyle Palmieri scored twice in the first period and New Jersey beat Pittsburgh.

Wedgewood, who allowed only one goal in his first two starts, halted two streaks: the Penguins' six-game winning streak and captain Sidney Crosby's 12-game scoring run.

Adam Henrique adding his 27th in the third period to secure the Devils' fifth win in seven games.

Wild 6, Flames 2

SAINT PAUL, Minn. -- Zach Parise ended a month-long slump with a first-period hat trick, and that was all the offense Minnesota needed.

[to top of second column]

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Edmonton scored five unanswered goals over the final 40 minutes to beat San Jose at SAP Center.

The Sharks failed to clinch a playoff spot for a second straight game, and they failed to take advantage of the fact Los Angeles lost and Anaheim earned only one point during an overtime loss. San Jose remains in third place in the Pacific.

Taylor Hall scored twice and Lauri Korpikoski, Adam Clendening, Patrick Maroon and Jordan Eberle scored one each for the Oilers.
