[March 30, 2016]  March 29 (The Sports Xchange) - New York Mets right-hander Matt Harvey has been suffering from a blood clot that was a result of a bladder infection. He had a procedure on Monday to eliminate the clot and Tuesday he was feeling like a new man.

Now it appears the 27-year-old will take the mound on Sunday night in a rematch of last season's World Series combatants when the Mets face the Kansas City Royals to open the season.

"It started with a bladder infection and it created a blood clot in the bladder," Harvey told reporters after having a minor procedure Tuesday morning to make sure "everything was clear."

Harvey blamed the infection on not using the bathroom often enough.

David Price will be Boston's Opening Day starter when the Red Sox travel to Cleveland to face the Indians on Monday.

Price will face Indians' right-hander Corey Kluber, the 2014 American League Cy Young winner.

Boston signed Price, the 30-year-old free agent left-hander, to a seven-year deal worth $217 million in the offseason.

Price will be making this third straight Opening Day start, each with a different team.
