[April 30, 2016]  MIDDLETOWN - Henrietta Boward, 86, passed away at 7:18 p.m. on April 26, 2016 at her home in Middletown.

Visitation:  From 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday May 2, 2016 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader funeral Home in Lincoln

Service:  10:00 a.m. Tuesday May 3, 2016 at Middletown Presbyterian Church

Obituary

Henrietta Boward, 86, passed away at 7:18 p.m. on April 26, 2016 at her home in Middletown.

Henrietta was born on January 16, 1930 in rural Petersburg, daughter of Henry M. and Etta Fastenau Kruse. She married Kenneth J. Boward in January of 1951, he preceded her in death on July 4, 1992.

Surviving Henrietta are her two sons: David (Gay) Boward of Lincoln, and Glenn (Karen) Boward of Weslaco, TX; two brothers: Martin Kruse of Ohio and Jerry (Bonnie) Kruse of Bainbridge, IN; one sister: Martha (Robert) Whiteman of Middletown; three grandchildren: Kara (Jess) Burge of Middletown, Benjamin (Megan) Boward of Frisco, TX; Dathan Boward of San Antonio, TX; three great-grandchildren: Erik Burge, Isabella Boward, and William Boward. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Henrietta was a member of the Middletown Presbyterian Church, Home Extension, Book Club, and the Middletown Ladies Coffee Club.
 

She was the first in her immediate family to go to college and taught fourth grade for 42 years at the Middletown Grade School. She loved to talk about her grandchildren and especially her great-grandchildren. She loved reading, tending her flower gardens, and watching the “well fed” birds from her kitchen window.

Services for Henrietta will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday May 3, 2016 at Middletown Presbyterian Church with Rev. Joshua Gorrie officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Monday May 2, 2016 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader funeral Home in Lincoln. Burial at Irish Grove Cemetery will follow the service with Deacon Steve Whiteman officiating graveside. Memorials may be given in Henrietta’s name to the Middletown Presbyterian Church or Middletown rescue Squad.
