[May 04, 2016]  May 3 (The Sports Xchange) - Laremy Tunsil could take another hit from the social media firestorm during the 2016 NFL Draft.

Tunsil, drafted 13th overall by the Miami Dolphins, is still being reviewed within the NFL drug program and could begin his career classified as a previous offender, contrary to reports Monday by ESPN that Tunsil was not in the program.

Geno Smith could be the starting quarterback for the New York Jets entering training camp for the second consecutive year.

General manager Mike Maccagnan said the Jets are looking forward to seeing Smith get extended repetitions after losing his job to Ryan Fitzpatrick because of injury last year.

Former NFL Defensive Player of the Year Dana Stubblefield vigorously defended himself of rape accusations and expressed that the sexual encounter with his accuser was consensual.

"I am here to state without any reservation that I am completely innocent of all these allegations," Stubblefield said. "I have worked my whole career to be a part of the Bay Area community. And I have worked in several communities and charities with the church. This is an issue that is very close to me. One of my primary charities is Special Olympics -- something that is true and dear to my heart. This is why these allegations hurt me so badly."

New Orleans Saints left tackle Terron Armstead has landed a five-year contract extension, according to published reports.

Armstead is entering the final season of his four-year rookie pact. The extension with the Saints runs through 2021.

Oakland Raiders tight end Clive Walford is missing offseason workouts after undergoing knee surgery, according to published reports.

Walford suffered the injury in an ATV crash earlier in the offseason. It is unclear when he was hurt and when he underwent the operation.

The Philadelphia Eagles released three players to create roster space.

Linebacker Brandon Hepburn, running back Ross Scheuerman and fullback Ryan Mueller were let go, the Eagles announced.

The Indianapolis Colts waived outside linebacker Eze Obiora.

Obiora was signed as an undrafted free agent on Jan. 13 after playing the previous two campaigns for Sioux Falls of the Indoor Football League. (Editing by Frank Pingue)
