 Ozuna homered to extend his hitting streak to 16 games and the
Marlins beat the Philadelphia Phillies 5-3.
Justin Bour also homered and Adeiny Hechavarria had three hits for
Miami, which won its third consecutive game.
"We had a chance to put a bunch up," manager Don Mattingly said,
noting the 12 baserunners his team stranded, "but obviously we got
enough."
Martin Prado and Christian Yelich each had two hits and an RBI for
Miami, and every Marlins starting position player reached base at
least once.
Ozuna, 1-for-5 in the game, is hitting .415 during his streak, which
matches a career high. That has allowed him to raise his average
from .218 to .308.
His homer, a solo shot in the second inning off Philadelphia starter
Jerad Eickhoff, opened the scoring and was his seventh of the
season.
"I was just trying to put the ball in play and be ready early, and
that's what happened," he said. "I got a good pitch to hit, and I
got it."
 He's been doing that a lot lately, Mattingly noted.
"O's been good," he said, "so keep him going."
Bour's homer was also his seventh, and it also came with the bases
empty, in the sixth. Hechavarria doubled and scored in the fifth and
seventh, helping stake the Marlins to a 5-1 lead.
Odubel Herrera and Tyler Goeddel had three hits each for
Philadelphia, which scored single runs in the seventh and ninth. The
latter crossed the plate on a sacrifice fly by Maikel Franco, a
drive to the wall off Miami reliever A.J. Ramos.
Ramos then struck out Carlos Ruiz to end the game and earn his 12th
save.
One day after leaving 16 men on base, the Phils stranded 10.
"We had plenty of baserunners," manager Pete Mackanin said. "We just
couldn't get the production to get them in."
Miami starter Adam Conley (3-2) went six innings, allowing one run
on eight hits while striking out five and walking one.
"I just wanted to make sure I was better, early in the count," said
Conley, who struggled in his previous start, against Milwaukee.
"I've been kind of thinking through how to get myself in better
counts and limit the free passes. Just trying to be better in the
zone early, to put myself in better counts. It's kind of a
race-to-two-strikes approach, so that I can expand the zone a little
bit.
Eickhoff (1-6) saw his personal losing streak reach five. He gave up
three runs and six hits while striking out four and walking two.

"He looked better than his last two starts," Mackanin said. "He made
a lot of good pitches but he made three or four bad ones."
Eickhoff, bothered by a migraine, had to interrupt a postgame
interview but later returned.
"Just trying to make little adjustments from last outing," he said,
adding that while his curveball was not effective, his fastball and
slider were.
Ozuna hit a 2-0 fastball for his homer in the second, but the
Phillies tied it on Goeddel's RBI single in the fourth.
The Marlins settled for a single run in the fifth, on Prado's
sacrifice fly, despite loading the bases with none out. That put
Miami ahead 2-1.
Bour's homer came with one out in the sixth, and the Marlins made it
5-1 by scoring twice in the seventh, on a sacrifice fly by Derek
Dietrich and Yelich's double.
Ruiz drove in the Phillies' seventh-inning run with an infield out.

games.
