This week bricks are coming down and will soon be going back up at Friendship Manor on the city's southeast side across for the Lincoln Community High School.

According to Lincoln Building and Safety Officer John Lebegue, the upper levels of the brick facade in particular were deteriorating to an unsafe point. The owners of the Manor spent quite some time considering what they would do with the building.

They thought about doing something new to the facade of the building to give it a different look. However, in the end they determined that they wanted to maintain the building in the manner in which it was originally constructed. Therefore, when the work is competed the building will have that same familiar look we all know.
