Relay for Life event to have two new features at this year’s event

[May 27, 2016]  LINCOLN - Relay for Life of Logan County has two new features at its June 18th event.

In place of the traditional Sunday Brunch held early in the year in the past, this year there will be “Brunch 2.” A picnic-style lunch offered on Relay Day. Servicing will begin at 11 a.m. and run to 3 p.m. in the Relay Track area at Lincoln Center.

The buffet menu will include: Grilled hamburger on bun, Chicken Strips, Johnsonville Brats on Hoagie, Macaroni & Cheese, Western Baked Beans, Potato Salad, Macaroni Salad, Cole Slaw, Jello, Chips & Dip, Fresh Fruit/Diced Fruit; and a variety of desserts and drinks. Tickets can be obtained from team members listed below, at the event or by calling Cyra Buttrell, this year’s event leader at 217-737-6423. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for children.

The second new feature will be a Bounce House during the relay hours. Come picnic, have fun during the theme laps and support the Relay for Life “Rockin’ for a Cure.”

Team Captains meeting Monday

Team captains are to gather at Lincoln Christian Church Monday, May 30 at 6:00 p.m. to pick up their teams Relay shirts, give final request for Relay Tent site and get tickets for the Brunch 2.
