Obituary

Gladys L. Aper, 91 of Lincoln passed away at 4:23 p.m. October 30, 2016 at the Christian Village.

Gladys was born October 28, 1925 in Oakford, the daughter of George and Luella (Pedigo) Whitley. She married Arthur Aper August 18, 1945 in Hartsburg. He preceded her in death March 16, 1990.

Gladys is survived by her two sons: Steven (Marge) Aper of Lincoln, Brian Aper of Lincoln, three daughters: Gloria (Garry Whittaker) Hermes of Lincoln, Pam (Steve) Coogan of Latham, and Cynthia (Dave) Esper of Highland, eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and two sisters.

 

Gladys retired in 1989 after 13 years as assembler for Eaton Corp. She was a caring mother and housewife. She enjoyed spending time with her family and also bingo night.

Services for Gladys will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday November 3, 2016 at St. John Lutheran Church, Hartsburg, with Rev. Lisa Goodwin officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to service (9:00 a.m.-11:00a.m.). Burial at Hartsburg Union Cemetery will follow the service.

Memorials may be given in her name to St. John Lutheran Church or Friendship Manor of Lincoln.

Services are entrusted to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
