[November 02, 2016]  LINCOLN - Homecoming Week commences at Lincoln College Monday. The fun-filled week includes a variety of events for students, alumni, and the community.

A new class for the Lincoln College Athletic Hall of Fame, men’s and women’s basketball games, tours of campus attractions and the College’s fall play are among the festivities.

Lincoln College’s Student Government Association and Student Activities Board planned spirit days for students under this year’s Homecoming theme: “Game On”.

Homecoming week runs through Saturday, November 5. In addition to Spirit Week activities for students, several events are scheduled and open to the public including:

  • Fall Play: Neil Simon’s Barefoot in the Park, Lincoln College’s Theatre department, along with community members, open its fall play on Thursday, November 3 at 7:30 p.m. in the Johnston Center for Performing Arts. After a six day honeymoon, they get a surprise visit from Corie's loopy mother and decide to play matchmaker during a dinner with their neighbor-in-the-attic Velasco, where everything that can go wrong, does.

Tickets are $5 for general admission and $1 for students and seniors. Tickets can be purchased at the door or by calling the Johnston Center Box Office at 735-7280. The play runs November 3-6 and November 10-13.
  • Athletic Hall of Fame Banquet, Friday, November 4 in the Davidson-Sheffer Gymnasium. Includes a cocktail reception from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner and the awards program. The 2016 Hall of Fame Class includes alumni Kim (Green) Wize ‘86 female basketball player, Bill Porritt ’70 male swimmer, Mike De Ment ’72 baseball player, John Swart ’60 basketball player under Norm Kaye, and men’s former basketball coach, Norm Kaye.
