[November 05, 2016]   Nov 4 (The Sports Xchange) - The Pittsburgh Steelers listed quarterback Ben Roethlisberger as questionable for Sunday's game against the Baltimore Ravens as he recovers from a meniscus tear in his left knee.

Coach Mike Tomlin told ESPN and WDVE 102.5 after practice Friday that the Steelers have not yet made a determination on Roethlisberger's availability.

Roethlisberger has been limited in practice all week. He underwent surgery Oct. 17 to repair the knee injury. Landry Jones is the backup and is ready to make his second consecutive start if necessary as the Steelers come off their bye week.

The Kansas City Chiefs ruled out running back Spencer Ware for Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars as he continues to recover from a concussion.

Ware, the Chiefs' leading rusher with 511 yards, sat out practice all week after suffering a concussion last Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts.

Kansas City will start Charcandrick West against the Jaguars. West led the Chiefs last season with 634 rushing yards.

Bishop Sankey and Anthony Sherman are the only other running backs on the roster after Jamaal Charles had exploratory surgery Wednesday on his right knee.

The Denver Broncos will be without cornerback Aqib Talib for the second consecutive game as his back injury continues to fail to respond to treatment.

Talib's absence this Sunday night against the Oakland Raiders is a bit worrisome with quarterback Derek Carr enjoying a banner season for the Raiders.

Just as concerning is that Talib's back hasn't been improving. He visited a doctor on Thursday and Broncos coach Gary Kubiak said Friday that Talib was set to receive a cortisone injection to see if that might help.

There is concern Talib may require a medical procedure if the injection doesn't help.

Cleveland Browns coach Hue Jackson announced that rookie Cody Kessler will start at quarterback against the Dallas Cowboys.

Kessler missed last Sunday's game against the New York Jets because of a concussion. Josh McCown started but will return to the backup role.

Jackson said he hopes Kessler can keep the starting job for the rest of the season to see whether he can be the Browns quarterback of the future.

The Minnesota Vikings ruled out guard Alex Boone and linebacker Eric Kendricks with concussions for Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions.

Both sustained concussions against the Chicago Bears on Monday night and were forced to sit out practice all week.

Boone, who started all seven games at left guard this season, also is dealing with shoulder and knee injuries. Jeremiah Sirles replaced Boone against the Bears and is expected to start Sunday.

Audie Cole likely will start at middle linebacker and Chad Greenway will take Kendricks' spot in the nickel.
