[November 08, 2016]    The Lincoln College Volleyball program is pleased to announce that two players from the 2016 team have received post-season honors from the Mid-West Athletic Conference (MWAC) and NJCAA Region XXIV.

Sophomore outside hitter Makenzie Cooper of Lincoln was named to the MWAC All-Conference First Team and was named First Team All-Region.

Cooper was second on the team in kills for the season with 246 and second in digs (293). She was the Lady Lynx leading server in points scored (190) and aces (38).

Freshman outside hitter Kaylyn Hoffert, also from Lincoln, was recognized by the MWAC as an All-Conference Honorable Mention recipient and made the All-Region second team.

Hoffert's 303 kills led the team and were enough to rank her in the top 100 kill leaders nationally. Her .303 hitting percentage ranked #47 in the nation among NJCAA DII hitters.

Cooper and Hoffert helped lead the Lady Lynx to a 22-12 record in 2016.

LC Coach Mark Tippett: "I am very pleased that these two ladies were recognized for the contributions they made to our team's success this season.

"Makenzie has been a two-year starter for us and a player who made a difference in all phases of the game. She has been one of our primary passers, a smart hitter, and one of the most consistent servers on the team.

"Kaylyn was a dominant hitter on the left side for us all year long. She hits line about as well as any hitter I've coached and can swing well from anywhere on the court. I look for more great things to come as she gets stronger and expands her role on the team next year. I'm very proud of them both.

Cooper plans to major in Radiology Technician Sciences and Hoffert is a Sports Management major.
