Crusaders build on great season with two wins

New Holland-Middletown played host to the 7th and 8th grade contests between the Illini Central Cougars and the Crusaders of Carroll Catholic/New Holland-Middletown/Zion Lutheran schools.

In the 7th grade game, the Crusaders won by a score of 33-12 behind 11 points from Trent Keohler and 10 from Andrew Graue. The rest of the Crusader scoring saw Everett Maaks score seven, Kannon Browne score three and Paul Schwantz have two. The win improves the 7th grade team to 7-1 on the season.

The 8th grade Crusaders were victorious by a score of 44-7. The Crusaders were led by Dylan Singleton with 18 points and Jared Helton with 10. Rounding out the scoring was Andrew Graue with six, Jared Merriman with five, Trent Koehler with three and Nathan Fulscher with two points. The win moves the 8th graders to 8-0.

The Crusaders next play Downs Tri-Valley this evening (Tuesday) at CCS, with the 7th grade game starting at 5:30 p.m. and the 8th grade to follow.
