Wolverines and Crusaders split wins in Tuesday night basketball

[November 30, 2016]    The West Lincoln-Broadwell Wolverines split two at home versus the Crusaders of Carroll Catholic/New Holland-Middletown/Zion Lutheran Schools, Tuesday night.

 

The seventh grade team continued their undefeated season as they pulled ahead of the Crusaders for a 38-30 victory. The offensive effort was led by Elijah Pollice with 14 points, four rebounds, two assists, and a steal. Scotty Battin followed up with 13 points, three rebounds, and two assists. Brody Whiteman dominated the defense with 15 rebounds and five steals and put up nine points. Daulton Miller pulled down ten rebounds and had two a piece in the blocks and steals column. Jacob Langley contributed 2 points, six rebounds, an assist and a steal to seal the victory for the Wolverines. The Crusaders were led by Trent Koehler with 20 points.

In the 8th grade contest, the Wolverines fell to the Crusaders by a score of 34-48. Dylan Singleton led the Crusaders to victory with 27 points. The Wolverines were led by Lucas Konczyk with nine points and two rebounds. Patrick McCraith dished out seven assists, scored 8 points and pulled down five rebounds. Elijah Pollice added 8 points, four rebounds, and an assist. Braydon Sailor grabbed nine rebounds and put up two points. Brody Whiteman added 4 points, eight rebounds, and a block. Scotty Battin contributed 3 points, a rebound, and a steal.

The Wolverines will travel to Hartsburg on Thursday to take on the Stags at 6 p.m.
