10/06/2016 NFL Note - * Free Agents Williams, Karlos

RB Karlos Williams is expected to re-sign with Buffalo after serving a four-game suspension for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy.

Williams wrote on his Twitter account that, "The return is gonna be so sweet," and ESPN reported that he was scheduled to visit Thursday with the Bills, who released the 2015 fifth-round pick in August after his suspension was levied.

Williams, 23, rushed for 517 yards and seven touchdowns as a rookie, but battled multiple injuries and then showed up to training camp out of shape. A free agent after his release, Williams became eligible to play again this week.

LeSean McCoy leads the Bills with 297 yards on 67 carries, and has 84 touches through four games. Backups Mike Gillislee, Jonathan Williams and Reggie Bush have combined for 15 carries and 18 touches, with Bush inactive the past two weeks.

The 6-foot-1, 230-pound Williams averaged 5.6 yards per carry as a rookie and is considered a strong physical runner who serves as a good complement to the versatile McCoy.

NFL Note - New York Giants Apple, *Eli

CB Eli Apple (hamstring) was limited in Thursday's practice. Apple seemed to be moving around much better during the team drills open to the media. -----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Minnesota Vikings Diggs, Stefon

WR Stefon Diggs (groin) missed practice for the second straight day Thursday. Diggs was on the injury report with a groin injury before the last two games and still played. -----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Minnesota Vikings Rudolph, Kyle

TE Kyle Rudolph (clavicle/rib) was upgraded to limited in practice Thursday after missing Wednesday's practice. If Rudolph can't play, it will snap a three-game streak with a touchdown reception. He has all three red-zone touchdown passes from Sam Bradford this season.

-----------------------------------------------

LB Leonard Floyd (calf) missed practice Thursday and Wednesday even though Bears coach John Fox had said the injury was not serious enough to keep Floyd sidelined after he was pulled from Sunday's win.
