The adult menu will include: Grilled Brats with Sauerkraut, Hot
German Potato Salad, Red Cabbage, Spaetzle, German German Chocolate
Cake or Apple Strudel and Tea, Coffee or Lemonade. There will also
be a children’s menu which will include: Hot Dogs, Chips,
Applesauce, German Desserts and Tea or Lemonade.
Tickets are priced for adults, or children age four to 13-years-old,
with kids under three eating free. Tickets are available at the
Parish Office, from any St. Thomas Aquinas Parish member or at the
Carry outs are available.
There will be a 50/50 drawing.
Of special mention is some of the cooks who will be involved, and
folks, the church is going all out for this one.
Liz and Claudia, who are here directly from Germany will be helping
the Scanavino family make Apple Strudels.
The Steve Coogan family, including Pam, Angie, Gina, Denise and
Tracie, will be making the German Potato Salad. This hot and
authentic recipe goes way back in the Coogan Family.
Scott Jarnigan and Jane Pharis will be making and serving the
Spaetzle. Spaetzle is a traditional German noodle dish.
The Red Cabbage will be homemade amazing cooks Jane Bryson, Phyllis
Hawk, Dorothy Hummel and Pam Coogan on that detail.

The applesauce will be chunky and delicious, courtesy of Jennifer
The Edgecombe Family is in charge of getting the Brats and Hotdogs fresh from
St. Louis. Those delicious meats will be grilled to perfection by grillmasters
Dan Hawk, Butch Rentmeister, Mitchell Beckers and Matt Bobell.
Finally, a large group of volunteers from the parish and the Active Catholic
Teens will be on hand to serve in various needed capacities.
As one of the organizers, Jennifer Riedle, stated, “There’s a lot of food, and
it really is a wonderful meal.”
