[October 18, 2016]    Oct 17 (The Sports Xchange) - Michael Carter-Williams joined the Chicago Bulls' remade roster on Monday when the Milwaukee Bucks traded the former NBA Rookie of the Year for shooting guard Tony Snell.

 

Carter-Williams, acquired by the Bucks in February 2015 from the 76ers, underwent left hip surgery in March and lost the starting point guard job twice in Milwaukee last season. He was the 11th overall pick in the 2013 draft.

The Miami Heat signed rookie center Vashil Fernandez to a contract on Monday.

The 6-foot-10 Fernandez, 24, was the all-time leading shot blocker at Valparaiso University.

The Indiana Pacers announced they waived forward Alex Poythress and guard Nick Zeisloft.

Poythress, 23, signed with the Pacers as an undrafted free agent out of Kentucky on Aug. 29. He played in two preseason games with the Pacers, scoring one point.

The Detroit Pistons waived former USC forward Nikola Jovanovic.

The undrafted free agent signed with the Pistons on Sept. 26 and saw action in only one preseason game. (Editing by Frank Pingue)
