[October 20, 2016]  LINCOLN - There will be several Halloween events this year that include great Trick-or-Treat opportunities for local children, starting this Saturday.

Trick-or-Treat with Mayor Marty
Saturday, October 22nd
9:30 a.m.

Please join Mayor Marty Neitzel in Latham Park in Lincoln at 9:30 a.m. for Trick-or-Treat with downtown businesses.

The march through the downotwn area will end at City Hall, where there are a number of great prizes that will be given out to children in attendance.

This event is open for children ages three to 10-years old.

Trick-or-Treat at Symphony
Thursday, October 27th
5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Join the residents at Symphony for part one of a two part evening of Halloween Fun.  Kids are invited to Trick-or-Treat at Symphony Nursing Home located at 2202 North Kickapoo Street in Lincoln.

Halloween FunFest
Thursday, October 27th
6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

After visiting the residents at Symphony, come out to the Lincoln Park District for the Halloween FunFest.  Kids and adults are encourage to dress in costume.  There will be treats for the kids and a kids costume contest.

Keepsake photos will be available for purchase.

Trunk or Treat at St. John United Methodist
Sunday, October 30th
3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

On Sunday, October 30th St. John United Church of Christ is holding a safe “TRUNK ‘R’ TREAT” from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. on their parking lot on the corners of 8th Street and Maple. Cars and participant s will be in costume – We welcome the children to show off their costumes and show up for treats.

For safety sake, cars bringing children are encouraged to enter the east end of the parking lot through the alley between the church and the parking lot.

Get started early on Halloween night with a visit to Castle Manor!  Visit with our residents and enjoy treats in a safe environment!

Light up the night with Jesus
Monday, October 31st
5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Brightly lit, carved pumpkins will light your way to "LIGHT UP THE NIGHT WITH JESUS", which will again be sponsored by Zion Lutheran Church on MONDAY, OCTOBER 31, from 5:00-8:00 p.m., during Lincoln's "Treat or Treat" hours, at the log cabin chapel on the corner of 5th and Logan Streets. Stop and warm up and meet members of Zion as they distribute "Glow in the Dark" crosses and candy to the children and a cups of hot chocolate to everyone. All are welcome! Fun for all ages.

Trunk-or-Treat at Open Arms Fellowship
Monday, October 31st
5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Trunk-or-Treat will be held in the parking lot at the Open Arms Christian Church, 813 Woodlawn Road, Lincoln.

There will be lots of candy and inside the church hot chocolate and cookies will be served.

Lincoln citizens who wish to receive Trick-or-Treaters should have their porch lights turned on.
