[October 28, 2016]    Oct 27 (The Sports Xchange) - The Anaheim Ducks signed restricted free-agent defenseman Hampus Lindholm to a six-year contract on Thursday.

Financial terms were not disclosed by the team, but TSN's Bob McKenzie reported the pact has an average annual value of $5.25 million.

The New York Rangers put defenseman Dylan McIlrath on waivers a few days after reports that the Rangers tried to trade him.

Presumably, the Rangers hope McIlrath does not get claimed, so they can send him down to the AHL.

The St. Louis Blues activated forward Jori Lehtera from injured reserve.

Lehtera has missed the past four games with an upper-body injury sustained during St. Louis' 3-2 victory over the New York Rangers on Oct. 15. The 28-year-old Finn is expected to be in the lineup on Thursday night as the Blues (4-2-1) host the Detroit Red Wings (5-2-0). (Editing by Frank Pingue)
