[October 31, 2016]  Oct 30 (The Sports Xchange) - The Philadelphia 76ers exercised the fourth-year contract options on center Joel Embiid and guard Nik Stauskas on Sunday, as well as the third-year option on forward Jahlil Okafor.

The Sixers selected the 7-foot, 250-pound Embiid with the third overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft. He missed the first two seasons recovering from two foot surgeries. Embiid, 22, has averaged 17 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.0 blocks in two games this season.

Stauskas, selected eighth overall by the Sacramento Kings in the 2014 draft, was acquired by the Sixers as part of a trade on July 10, 2015. In his first season with the Sixers, the 23-year-old Stauskas appeared in 73 games (35 starts) and averaged 8.5 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 25 minutes per contest.

Okafor was selected by the 76ers with the third overall pick in the 2015 draft. He was named to the NBA All-Rookie first team after averaging 17.5 points and 7.0 rebounds on 51 percent shooting from the field in 30 minutes per game.

The Brooklyn Nets picked up the 2017-18 options on forwards Rondae Hollis-Jefferson and Chris McCullough. The clauses exercised are the third-year options in each player's contract.

Hollis-Jefferson averaged 5.8 points and 5.3 rebounds in 29 games as a rookie last season. He has started each of Brooklyn's three games this season.

McCullough averaged 4.7 points and 2.8 rebounds in 24 games as a rookie. He has played in one game (four minutes) this season.

Charlotte announced that it exercised its third-year contract option on forward/center Frank Kaminsky.

The 23-year-old Kaminsky enters his second season after appearing in 81 games as a rookie averaging 7.5 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 17.3 minutes per game.

He was selected by the Hornets ninth overall in the first round of the 2015 NBA Draft. (Editing by Andrew Both)
