[August 31, 2016]  LINCOLN -  Robert M. “Mike” Butler, 65, of Lincoln, passed away on August 26, 2016, at 6:00 a.m., at home with his sister and brother-in-law.

Private family service: Noon Friday, September 2nd in Iowa

Obituary

Robert M. “Mike” Butler, 65, of Lincoln, passed away on August 26, 2016, at 6:00 a.m., at home with his sister and brother-in-law.

Private graveside services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, September 2, 2016, at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Fort Madison, Iowa.

Cremation rites have been accorded.

Robert Michael Butler was born on July 11, 1951, in Fort Madison, Iowa, the son of William J. and Elizabeth C. (Betty) Butler.

Mike is survived by two sisters: Barb (Bill) Sahs of Lincoln, IL, and Peggy (Dave) Cecil of Farmington, Iowa; three brothers: Jim (Terri) Butler of Fort Madison, Iowa, Tom (Renate) Butler of Fort Madison, Iowa, and Joe (Sue) Butler of Burlington, Iowa; two aunts: Claire Davis of Casa Grande, AZ and Bernadine Butler of Fort Myers, FL; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one niece.

Funeral Director

Mike was a 1969 graduate of Fort Madison High School. After high school, he worked for Baxter Construction and Coffey Construction in Fort Madison. In Florida, he continued working in construction with Cobb Construction and later for Ace Hardware in Wauchula, FL. Mike made his home in Zolfo Springs, FL for 25 years. He was an accomplished carpenter and woodworker.

Final arrangements are entrusted with Peasley Funeral Home of Lincoln.
