[September 14, 2016]  ATLANTA - Alice M. Jodlowski, 72, of Atlanta, passed away at 8:25 p.m. Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Funeral arrangements are pending with the Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home in Atlanta.

Visitation:   From 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at St. Mary's Catholic church in Atlanta.

Service:  11 a.m. Monday, September 12 at the church

Obituary

Alice M. Jodlowski, 72, of Atlanta, passed away at 8:20 p.m. on Tuesday, September 6, 2016, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield after a brief illness.

Visitation will be held for Alice from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at St. Mary's Catholic church in Atlanta. A Rosary service will be held at 3:30 p.m. prior to the visitation.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, September 12, 2016 at St. Mary's Church in Atlanta at 11:00 a.m.

Private burial will be held at a later date.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held in her hometown of Alma, KS, over Thanksgiving weekend.

Alice Marie Berroth was born February 21, 1944, in Wamego, Kansas, to Osborne "Obbie" and Evelyn Moege Berroth of Alma, Kansas. Both her parents preceded her in death. Alice married Byron Jodlowski on July 15, 1967 in Alma. He survives.

Also surviving is one son, Ed (Colleen) Jodlowski, four grandsons: Cameron, Evan, Kenyon, and Griffen Jodlowski; one special "adopted" son, Greg (Melodye) Crabtree, and special "granddaughter" Cassie Crabtree. Alice is also survived by two brothers: Jim Berroth and Bruce (Mary) Berroth, and two sisters: Ruth Messer and Janet (Donald) Hafenstine, all of Alma, Kansas; two sisters-in-law: Mary Bischoff of Hibbing, MN and Teresa Berroth of Alma, Kansas.

Funeral Director

Alice was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Atlanta and the Altar & Rosary Society. She went to school at St. John's Lutheran School and graduated from Alma High School. She worked for the State of Kansas Highway Department, followed by the State of Illinois at Soldiers and Sailor's Children's Home in Normal, and then the Logan Correctional Center until her retirement. Alice enjoyed attending her grandchildren's many events. They were her pride and joy.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Logan County 4-H Foundation.
