[September 15, 2016]  Sept 14 (The Sports Xchange) - New York Jets defensive end Mo Wilkerson is listed as questionable for Thursday night's game against the Buffalo Bills.

Wilkerson has been limited in practice this week due to ankle and toe injuries, according to the team's final injury report released on Wednesday. His toe injury was a nail removal.

Jets linebackers David Harris and Bruce Carter also are listed as questionable due to shoulder injuries. Linebacker Jordan Jenkins (calf) and cornerback Darryl Roberts (foot) are listed as doubtful.

Quarterback Bryce Petty remains out with the right shoulder injury he suffered in the preseason.

Bills left tackle Cordy Glenn has been ruled out with an ankle injury. Glenn hurt the same ankle that kept him out for the entire preseason during the 13-7 loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.

Cyrus Kouandjio will get the start against the Jets. Safety Colt Anderson (foot) also has been ruled out for the Bills.

The Washington Redskins re-signed veteran defensive lineman Cullen Jenkins on Wednesday.

Jenkins, 35, was signed by the Redskins on Aug. 29 and appeared in the preseason finale against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, recording three tackles and a sack on 18 defensive snaps.

He was released on Sept. 3 as the Redskins got down to their 53-man roster.

The 6-foot-2, 305-pound Jenkins, entering his 13th season, has totaled 333 tackles with 47.5 sacks and eight fumbles forced during his career with the Green Bay Packers, Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston has been named NFC Offensive Player of the Week for Week 1 and Pittsburgh Steelers running back DeAngelo Williams took the AFC honor.
 


Winston, earning his first career Player of the Week Award, completed 23 of 33 passes for 281 yards, with four touchdowns and a passer rating of 122.6 in a 31-24 victory at the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.

Williams had 26 carries for 143 yards and two touchdowns in the Steelers' 38-16 win over the Washington Redskins on Monday Night Football.

He added six receptions for 28 yards. Williams has stepped in as the starter with Le'Veon Bell serving a three-game suspension to open the season.

The NFL also announced Wednesday that Minnesota Vikings linebacker Eric Kendricks was named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week with Houston Texans outside linebacker Whitney Mercilus taking the AFC honor.

The Arizona Cardinals were awarded cornerback Tharold Simon on waivers from the Seattle Seahawks.

Simon appeared in 10 of his 11 games with the Seahawks last season, starting five. The 6-foot-3, 202-pounder made 13 tackles and had one interception.

A fifth-round draft choice out of LSU in 2013, Simon will likely compete for playing time opposite All-Pro cornerback Patrick Peterson.

Rookie Brandon Williams struggled in his first career start for the Cardinals in a season-opening loss to the New England Patriots. Justin Bethel is a perennial Pro Bowler on special teams but struggled in coverage last season.

The New England Patriots released defensive back Mike Hilton from their practice squad on Wednesday.

Hilton, 22, was signed to the practice squad on Sept. 6. He was originally signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars on May 1 as a rookie free agent out of Mississippi. He was released by the Jaguars on Aug. 29.

The 5-foot-9, 184-pound Hilton started at every position in the defensive backfield during his college career. Last season, he started 11 of 13 games and finished with 70 total tackles and 15 passes defensed.
