 It instilled such a deep affection for this
community and for the people who live and work here. Just being a
Railer fan, teaching, counseling, being involved with the Pom Pon
Squad and directing musicals created a bond with so many people. It
is part of why my commitment and involvement has lead me to this
point of wanting to be Mayor of Lincoln.”
Rohlfs served as an Alderman from 2005 to 2009, also as director of
the Main Street Lincoln program for 7 years. She taught at LCHS for
38 years and continues to serve on many area organizations in a
leadership role. She is a graduate of Hartsburg-Emden High School
with a Bachelor’s degree from Illinois State University, a Master’s
degree from Sangamon State University, and an advanced certificate
in Education Administration from U of I Springfield.

 My consistent attendance at City Council meetings
along with changes in city policies and procedures lead me to
believe that what was being communicated to the citizens lacked
clarity, openness, and responsibility. I want the people of Lincoln
to become more aware of decisions being made, and, hopefully, become
more involved in the process of making those decisions.
Three areas became significant to Rohlfs for this election: due
diligence, transparency, and accountability. “A common thread
citizens are relating is the need for “Making Lincoln Home Again.” A
disconnected feeling, a lack of pride, and a lack of ownership has
been created for many residents. My goal as Mayor of Lincoln, is to
bring back stability, equality, authenticity and accountability to
the citizens.”
