Woofstock brings loads of fun with family and furry friends this Saturday

[September 22, 2016]  LINCOLN - Anytime Fitness Lincoln will host the 5th annual “Woofstock” fundraiser on Saturday, September 24 at the Logan County Fairgrounds from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Woofstock is a fun-filled, family friendly event for both the pet and pet lover to spend a day together and raise money for the local Humane Society. All are encouraged to bring their leashed pet for a day of fun activities, events, contests and shopping at the vendor fair – all to benefit the Humane Society of Logan County (HSLC).

New this year! Mr. & Mrs. Woofstock 2016 Contest. After 60 photos were submitted, members of the community participated in an online Facebook poll voting for the favorite male and female dog of Logan County. “Big Paws K-9 Grooming” in Lincoln will crown Mrs. Ella, owner Mary O’ Hara, and Mr. Loui J, owner Jessica Haberkorn, at 2:00 p.m.

Does your kid have what it takes to be a Woofstock Ninja Warrior? Anytime Fitness will host a “Kids Ninja Warrior Course” to promote fitness to the youth of our community. The course will be open from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Want to provide your four-legged companion with more physical and mental stimulation? Capital City K-9 will have an agility course for your dog to get just that. Course will be open all day.

Get your running shoes ready for the “6-Legged Race”, sponsored by Best Friends Animal Hospital. Attendees are able to enter this event from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be other carnival games sponsored by DL Wulf LLC Construction Services. Come out and win a prize for your dog.

Jenny Abbot, with American Family Insurance, is sponsoring the “Pooch Parade”, where everyone can show off their best dog costumes and best owner/dog costume combo. This kicks off at 10 a.m. sharp.

Back by popular demand is the “Best Trick Contest” which is sponsored by Chris Coyne, State Farm Insurance. Show off the talents of your hound at 11:15 a.m.

Joe Ryan, Country Financial, is sponsoring the “Biggest Dog Contest” which begins at 1 p.m.

A new addition to Woofstock is a giant inflatable obstacle course provided by El Mazatlan Restaurant & Grill. Other events include: a demonstration from Scott Brown’s Lincoln Taekwondo Elite Black Belts, and music performances from Emily Johnson, JT Thomas, and special guests Mario Canon and Taylor Nave.

Bring your family and your furry friend to the Logan County Fairgrounds on Saturday, September 24th, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
