[September 24, 2016]  On Thursday, the Lincoln College Women's Volleyball team picked up another road victory against the Millikin University JV in four sets.

Lincoln played consistently in the opening set to win it 25-20. Cassidy Sanneman lead the attack with two kills and a block in the set.

Set two was a see-saw battle that included several lead changes until freshman DS Jenna Weller went on a four-point run of serves to tie the score at 23-23. After the teams had traded side outs, freshman setter Abbi Buelow served two points to give LC the 26-24 set win.

Set three was just as exciting as set two as Lincoln looked to close out the match by going up 24-21 on Millikin, but a furious comeback by the Big Blue resulted in a 27-25 win to extend the match.

Millikin kept the momentum into set four and appeared to be in control up 18-14, but a service error ignited a 10-1 Lincoln run to give LC the set and match victory 25-19. During that run, sophomore Kenzie Cooper had three kills, 5 points were served by Abbi Buelow, and freshman right side Mattie Giese contributed a kill and a solo block.

The win improves Lincoln's record to 10-5.

"We are starting to see the kind of offensive diversity we will need to be successful in the second half of the season. This was a great team win and a fun match to watch. "
