At
the close of the Monday evening voting session
of the Lincoln City Council Mayor Marty Neitzel
addressed the council saying she felt that she
has lost the support and confidence of the
aldermen. Therefore, she said she would not be
selecting an alderman for the vacant seat in
Ward 3. She said she would leave that duty to
the incoming Mayor, Seth Goodman, who will be
sworn in at the first meeting in May.
At last week's Committee of the Whole, Mayor
Neitzel offered up a candidate in executive
session. Her statement Monday evening and the
absence of an action item on the agenda offered
evidence that her choice was not accepted by the
council.
