[April 12, 2017]  LINCOLN - Logan County Clerk Sally Turner said today that of the 19,404 registered voters in Logan County a total of 2,967 ballots were cast for a 15.29 percent turnout at the Consolidated General on April 4. The highest turnout in the county was 43.56 in Mount Pulaski 1 followed by Elkhart with 41.78.

Logan County will canvass the outstanding valid by mail ballots and conclude the results from Consolidated General Election on Friday, April 14. Per Illinois State Statutes, valid late arriving ballots that are postmarked by Election Day and received within the 14 day period in the Office of the Clerk may be counted following each election.

Surrounding counties that overlap with several of our local school, fire, library and park districts will not be concluding their canvass until April 18. This will prevent Logan County from completing any district in overlapping counties to complete its canvass and certification of the election until after April 18.

Those districts totally within Logan County will receive their election certificates and canvass results by mail after the Clerk finalizes those local issues on Friday, April 14. All certificates and canvass results will be sent directly to the clerk or secretary of the district.

Any newly elected official should contact their district clerk or secretary to learn as to the date of their first board meeting and official oath ceremonies.
